Full Job Description

The Senior Health and Hygiene Specialist will provide subject matter expertise in the assessment and control of risk to health associated with actual, planned and/or decommissioned facilities, plant, equipment, or product. They will advise on and develop strategies, methodology for assessing, managing, controlling, and recording risk to health in line with relevant legislation and guidance, industry standards and AWE procedures and guidance.,

  • Provision of specialist technical expertise within the health and hygiene subjects under their control.
  • Preparing health and safety management system documentation for health and hygiene subject areas under their control.
  • Understanding the legislation, guidance and research; identifying shortfalls and opportunities for improvements to the management processes; proposing these to the Head of Health and Safety for approval.
  • Carrying out and analysing data from monitoring activities and reporting the conclusions to the business along with suitable recommendations.
  • Demonstrating to Head of Health and Safety the suitability and implementation of Health and Hygiene management processes through appropriate metrics for health and hygiene subject areas under their control.
  • Coaching others in Occupational Hygiene practice in their areas of expertise.
  • Support Production operations and other assets/functions by ensuring the timely recognition, evaluation, monitoring, and control of health risks in the workplace.

    Package: From £44,110 pa (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience), 9-day working fortnight - meaning you get every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.
