Full Job Description

To support the H&S Team by providing technical and geographical Health and Safety activity across UK based sites in Health Services. Working as part of the BGIUK Health and Safety team and supporting the Health and Safety Leads, you will help implement, monitor, and maintain an effective safety management system to deliver business unit ambitions and performance for employee health and safety. You'll help us make health happen by:

  • To support & advise site managers to be able to fulfil their OSH responsibilities.
  • To investigate all legally reportable injuries to ensure accurate reporting within defined timescales.
  • To assist operational teams in the implementation of control measures on the back of Risk Assessments
  • To manage own diary and movements to maximise efficiency of own resource.
  • To work closely with L&D to supply training in H&S Risk Assessment
  • To monitor compliance against H&S policy and independently audit Bupa locations.
  • To contribute towards the positive direction of H&S in various campaigns, policy reviews and procedure development
  • To prepare written reports upon request on investigation, audits or topics relevant to H&S purpose
  • To help and support the Health and Safety Lead with the implementation of their H&S plans and contribute towards the wider H&S agenda.

    Minimum of NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent
  • Prepared to undertake additional training as required to fulfil the role and the ambition of the department.
  • Must keep self up to date with current and emerging legislation and guidance in the field of H&S to provide professional in-house expertise.
  • Be a member of a professional safety body such as IOSH, IIRSM, CIEH, BSC
  • Previous experience in a safety role is required.
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Competent in the use of general IT software - word, excel, powerpoint & e-mail.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate is desirable.
