Full Job Description

Our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner will work with select services

  • Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all stakeholders in services across the Council
  • Reviewing and auditing arrangements for health and safety management and continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate
  • Conducting and reviewing risk assessments and audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Collaborating with managers at all levels to support health, safety and wellbeing excellence.
  • Drive behavioural change across the Council.
  • Writing engaging communications and delivering training to employees at all levels.

    Significant experience in a similar health, safety and wellbeing role, preferably within a large, complex organisation.
  • A relevant health and safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate (essential) NEBOSH Diploma (preferred) or equivalent.
  • Investigation skills to implement health and safety systems, oversee accident investigations and identify training needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to influence, persuade and motivate others to adopt safer working practices.
  • Data analysis skills to identify themes and trends and report on these to leadership teams with recommendations for action / improvement.
  • A proactive and systematic approach to work, with strong organisational skills.
  • Chartered membership with a professional body such as IOSH or CIEH (preferred but not essential).
