Full Job Description

We are looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to join our infrastructure water team team in Cambridge. Our successful HSW Manager will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Relocation Project. Be accountable for developing and facilitating the implementation of Alliance Health, Safety, and Wellbeing strategy and plan, with the implementation of policy, procedures and coaching to support this within project and delivery teams. What you'll do:

  • Advise and support the project team on all matters relating to health, safety, & wellbeing, including the obligations and responsibilities of managers and all personnel; and provide comprehensive, legal and practical advice in accordance with the Alliance HSEMS management system.
  • Overall team management of the SHWE team including managing the assurance schedule and objective setting on a monthly basis.
  • Demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work or standalone projects leading on-site H&S engagement and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the delivery team to ensure methodology is safe and approved, meeting programme and budget.
  • Open and close important engagement events such as Frontline Supervisor Development Programme and Site Manager/Construction Manager programme.
  • Direct and advise on all areas of SHW compliance and any areas of concern taking immediate steps to rectify, and being actively involved in all pre-works planning including on-site hazard and risk identification. Supporting with RAMS development and approving key methodology and build plans.

    Minimum 5 years in HSW Management role within construction.
  • Level 5 academically recognised qualification or above (i.e. diploma /degree/NVQ) relating to health, safety and wellbeing.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • CertIOSH or higher membership level of IOSH
  • Health and Safety Management in Design and Construction
  • CSCS Card
  • Driving licence
