Full Job Description

The Educate Group have been tasked with seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Health and Social Care to join one of our busy secondary schools in the area. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and shape their futures in the health, social care, and childcare professions. As a key member of the department, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging lessons in Health and Social Care across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your role will involve fostering students' understanding of health, care practices, and the social care industry, encouraging them to explore real-world applications. You will also collaborate with colleagues to create schemes of work, assessments, and resources to enhance the curriculum. In addition to teaching, you will provide pastoral support and monitor student progress, helping learners to achieve their full potential. Through your teaching, you will inspire students with an understanding of contemporary health and social care issues, preparing them for future careers in the field.   • Responsibilities of a Secondary Teacher:
  • Deliver and provide opportunities for students to learn and express themselves.
  • Ensure that students are engaged, motivated and on task.
  • Manage any behaviour issues that may arise.
  • Follow school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Requirements of a Secondary Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage behaviour effectively
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Registrations required to be a Secondary Teacher:
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you do not have one, you can apply for a new one through Educate.
  • You must register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in Wales.
