Full Job Description

This senior leadership role is critical to the UK Novartis business and contributes to the broader Value and Access team as well as impacting UK enterprise priorities and culture. This role is highly impactful and has great visibility and input at a senior level in the UK as well as regionally and globally. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of health economic & outcomes research strategies and/or pricing strategies for Novartis UK, and provide Leadership to the UK HTA & HEOR function. You will also be responsible for building and continually enhancing best-in-class HTA & HEOR access capabilities to establish and retain competitive advantage in a dynamic market environment., This is a UK London Head Office based role with hybrid working. The office is based in White City in West London.,

  • Second line manager role requiring leadership of a growing team of 10 with 3 direct reports, developing talent and capabilities across the function
  • Providing expertise and strategic input into HTA submissions and evidence generation to influence positive and fast outcomes for the IM portfolio
  • Strategic input into development plans and trial designs for pipeline compounds
  • Strategic input into Real World Evidence and evidence-generation strategy to mitigate HTA risks
  • Prioritisation and resource deployment to deliver HTA needs including global engagement
  • Development and delivery of HTA strategy across the portfolio including proactively proposing STOP initiatives
  • Ensure customer engagement across all key stakeholders leveraging the Novartis UK organisation to ensure NHS policy, systems, key bodies and clinical groups support the plan for rapid launch success
  • External engagement with relevant health authorities and trade associations where relevant to HTA policy
  • Competitor and expert insights e.g. ISPOR to bring new ways of thinking
  • Provide leadership and engagement with Regional and Global HEOR colleagues to support and influence optimal delivery of UK HTA strategies

    Significant experience in a senior HEOR role within a Pharmaceutical company
  • Degree level education in Economics, Medical/Health Sciences or Pharmacy with a Post-graduate qualification desired, in Health Economics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Sciences or related field
  • Success in the development and delivery of complex HTA, risk plan development and mitigation for HTA submission
  • Strong communication skills with gravitas internally and externally
  • Seasoned leader of people with direct team management experience
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Understanding of the UK health environment and NHS is highly desirable
