Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us at this leading state-maintained selective school for boys as Health & Wellbeing Officer, supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing of all pupils.

The successful candidate will be our Primary First Aider for pupils, overseeing the day-to-day running of the school's medical room, ensuring it is well-equipped to respond to medical situations. They will be part of our core safeguarding team, supporting the administration of attendance, safeguarding and SEND. The role will also involve leading a team of other First Aid trained staff and working closely with numerous external agencies and the School's in-house Counsellor.

With support and training, there may be an opportunity to make a contribution to the assembly and personal development programmes on health-related topics.

Applicants will need to be customer-focused, with appropriate experience/skills to work with young people and have a good understanding of safe working practices.

A good level of written and spoken English is essential. Initiative, problem-solving abilities, strong administration and sound time management are also needed.

The School offers supportive terms of employment, generous training opportunities, and membership of the local government pension scheme.

The contractual terms will be agreed on appointment but it is anticipated that our new colleague will work 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

The closing date for applications is 0830 hours on Monday 21 October 2024. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible and will be reviewed as they arrive.

We are an equal opportunities employer. Queen Elizabeth's is a dynamic school supported by a diverse and enthusiastic community of staff, pupils, parents and alumni. It is important that our staff reflect the diversity of our community, and we therefore welcome and encourage applications from people of all genders and sexual orientation, those from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds, and from those with disabilities.
