We welcome applications from people who share our values and can help us deliver outstanding care in our local community., An opportunity for 2x posts has arisen to join the team of nursing staff at Squirrels Children's Residential Short Breaks Unit. Squirrels is an Aylsham based unit providing specialist, high quality, person centred care for children and young persons.
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NCH&C's Values and Behaviour Framework.
This job description is to be read in conjunction with the core skills list for this particular role., To make patients welcome to clinical area and participate in admission process under the supervision of registered staff.
Provide and deliver a high standard of individualised personal nursing care.
To keep the clinical area clean and tidy maintaining a safe environment.
To adhere to Trust infection control procedures.
To assist in the preparation of patients and equipment for treatment, investigations or procedures as directed by the RN.
To chaperone/escort patients to other clinical departments and or NHS Units under the direction of the RN.
To assist with the discharge process for patients directed by the RN and/or a member of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)., To accurately and promptly carry out the instructions of the RN who is professionally accountable for the delivery of care.
To carry out duties as specified within the Trust's Approved Core Task List for Clinical Support Worker (working within assessed competence).
To report to registered staff any patient that gives cause for concern or any observed changes in a patient's clinical condition.
To support patient's emotional well-being by supporting positive conversations, and actively encouraging participation in ward-based activities.
To accurately document all care delivered to patients, including recording documentation electronically on Trust systems maintaining confidentiality at all times.
To respond appropriately to clinical emergencies to ensure the patient receives appropriate care. Be aware of role in emergency situations and what actions should be undertaken.
To be aware of and adhere to all Trust policies/procedures/nursing guidelines when undertaking any activities.
