Full Job Description
Oak Street Medical Practice have a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join the practice, to support the nursing team, on a full or part-time basis, depending on the hours sought by the successful applicant. This is a maternity contract for 6 months, with a possible extension, ideally to start at the end of November 2024.,
- Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
- New patient health checks.
- Blood pressure/weight/height/BMI checks.
- Wound dressings and suture and clip removals.
- Urine testing and analysis and submit samples to the laboratory following the practice protocol.
- Wound dressings and suture and clip removals.
- Obtain specimens, ensure their maintenance under correct conditions and dispatch to the appropriate agency.
- Perform ECGs.
- Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations.
- Provide valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families, and carers.
