Full Job Description

The unit operates Monday to Friday, 7.30am-8.00pm, caring for peri-operative patients undergoing a wide range of procedures from specialities including: General, Breast, and Gynaecology surgery as well as endoscopy procedures, such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy and cancer screening. The role will involve working in theatre, recovery, endoscopy and the day surgery ward. In doing so you will be supporting the qualified nurses in delivering & maintaining a high standard of care.,

  • Working under supervision of qualified staff, utilising your knowledge and skills to delivery excellent patient care.
  • To engage with all service users, patients and other teams within the Hospital setting.
  • To develop your skills to meet the demands and diversity in the department.
  • To be adaptable and able to work and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary, multi-skilled team using good interpersonal skills
  • Contribute to the development of services within theatre, the day ward and endoscopy environment.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable, to facilitate the provision of quality care. To support the clinician with invasive procedures acting in a confident and effective way that maintains the patient's well-being. This will include the organisation of equipment, documentation and specimen collection according to Trust Standard operating procedures.
