Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) located in West Drayton, near Heathrow Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a challenging, yet rewarding environment, joining Europe's largest IRC. Hours The site currently offers various shift patterns across a 7 day working working week, As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients' care.
- You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on well-being promotion clinics.
- You will support the registered nurse and operating department practitioner in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and to be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery. - NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- We are ideally looking for someone who has experience of working in a Health Care Assistant role or similar.
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
