Full Job Description

If you are in the UK on a VISA please ensure you have no restrictions that would prevent you from taking this post, The HCA base will be at Stanley Primary Care Centre, however there will be an expectation to cover the service across other sites with in the Trust each week.

Duties will include setting up clinics and operating room, assisting during minor skin surgery lists and undertaking the role of circulating assistant. Printing off documentation prior to community dermatology clinics and surgery lists. Maintaining a caring, calm, safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing skin surgery and being seen in the community dermatology clinics. Giving patients advice on post operative wound care. Basic wound dressings.

Acting as chaperone.

Taking blood and dermatology specific samples.

Ordering stock and stock control. Taking on specific duties after training with regard to, for example, Medical devices; Health and Safety, DSE risk assessments, etc.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
