Full Job Description
Ashfield Medical Centre, in Beanhill, has a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant (HCA) to support the nursing team within the surgery, on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week, 2.30pm till 6.30pm Monday to Friday., The healthcare assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
- Wound care, phlebotomy, 24 Hr BP, B12 injections, D-Dimer, doppler, INR, removal of sutures & clips and wound swabs .
- New patient, NHS, LD, SMI and diabetic health checks.
- Re-stocking and stock rotation of surgical equipment and vaccines.
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms. The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience, skills and competence, requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
We require candidates to have previous experience working as an HCA within a GP surgery - this role has a specific set of duties different from other types of HCA roles. Working under the direct supervision of the practice nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. Previous experience of working as an HCA within primary care in the UK is essential in order to be considered for the role.
