Excellent job opportunities are available for Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomists at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT) across our Outpatients Departments, Community Clinics and Phlebotomy Service., Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be:

Assist the Registered Nurse in the delivery of indirect/direct patient care and treatment as requested.

Contribute to the Registered Nurse assessment of a patient by undertaking a number of investigations and reporting findings to the Registered Nurse including, but not limited to, patient weight, patient height, BMI, MRSA/COVID swabs, temperature, blood pressure, respirations, pulse, ECG recording, BM recording and spirometry. Training will be given.

Undertake Phlebotomy across departments and Community clinics.

We expect you to display the appropriate behaviours and attitudes required to provide safe and compassionate care to our patients, possess Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy qualifications and be prepared to achieve/demonstrate competencies in a wide range of tasks including taking blood samples, measuring blood pressure and other observations/recordings.
