Full Job Description

At our brand new Stroke Unit at Westbrook House in Margate we are looking for a skilled and caring Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team.

Our patients are supported on their road to recovery and independence, with a daily programme of therapy tailored to their individual needs. This includes supporting people to improve their mobility and regain skills such as washing, dressing, eating meals and communicating, helping them to return home.

We work closely with the acute stroke unit at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. People who no longer need to be in an acute hospital, but are not yet ready to go home, will have a short period of specialist inpatient rehabilitation

You will play an important role in supporting our patients with their recovery.

You will be helping them with delegated therapy activities such as therapeutic moving and handling and personal care practice. Training will also be provided in all elements of stroke care and rehabilitation.

We run a 24 hour internal rotation so you will need to be able to work a mixture of shift patterns.
