Full Job Description

The Health Care Support Worker is a member of the ward team who implements prescribed care and undertakes administrative as directed by the registered nurse to:

  • Assists in the provision of high quality patient care.
  • Ensure that patients arriving on the ward are assessed and settled within the department.
  • Ensure the department is clean and well stocked.
  • Ensure that provision of food and drinks is facilitated.
  • Participate in activities/projects that contribute to improved patient care or experience.

    We are looking for Health Care Support Workers with a commitment to developing our outstanding service for Trauma Orthopaedic and Plastics. You should have excellent communication skills; you must be friendly, approachable and demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to keep calm in challenging situations.
  • You will be supported to embrace your clinical skills and given the opportunity for professional development within a progressive team, where our nursing skills are valued by our patients, their families and all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team. Experience at Band 2 is preferred, but we will be able to offer successful candidates an orientation programme and the chance to attend relevant study days and in house training to enable you to develop within this role.
