Healthcare Support Worker - Acute Medical Unit

Under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals in the Acute Medical Unit, you will be assisting the team with the provision of clinical care for a defined group of patients.You are likely to be asked to support with patients who may require 1 to 1 help and there may be patients who present challenging behaviours.,

• Provide care for patients,helping to maintain their personal hygiene, which will sometimes include working with bodily fluids
• Provide physical comfort for patients, whilst ensuring their privacy and dignity is always maintained
• Wash and dress patients, and helping them to safely move around
• Working directly with patients that may require close observation (emotional and psychological support)
• Serve meals and help with feeding
• Assist with cleaning tasks and making beds
• Record information to patient administration system and assist team with other administrative duties
