Full Job Description

+ Function as a team member of the Multidisciplinary Team by assisting the Registered Nurse in the delivery of effective high quality patient care. All work undertaken by the post holder will be under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
+ Provide care/assistance to patients according to needs and problems identified in individual patient care plans.
+ Report condition, progress and problems encountered, to nurse in charge.
+ Assist in the administering of medication following appropriate training and supervision.
+ Escort patients to and from other departments and hospitals when required.

On-Call
Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will -
+ Participate in meetings and handover to discuss patients progress and care
+ Monitor and maintain stock level on ward / department
+ Undertake errand duties which include;
+ Transport specimens
+ Collect instruments / drugs
+ Collect case notes as required
+ Assist in the preparation of patient case notes as required.
+ Provide assistance with personal care
