Full Job Description

The Breast Care Unit are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker on a permanent contract.
You will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assist the registered nurses and senior clinical staff in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care.
Our staff are committed to providing high standards of individualised care for the people who use our services, whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity at all times. With training to be:
+ To be able to implement nursing care packages in the outpatient nurse led clinics i.e. wound clinics, on Wards and assist in the operating theatre.
+ To assist the Breast Care Nurse Practitioners to effectively run the breast nurse led service.
+ To ensure that the outpatient clinics run smoothly and be responsible for training HCAs, The Trust believes everyone has a role to play in improving and contributing to the quality of care provided to our clients.
You are expected to take a proactive role in supporting the Trust's clinical governance agenda by:
+ taking part in activities for improving quality such as Valuing Everyone's Experience training or (for staff working within clinical specialties) clinical audit
+ Identifying and managing risks through incident and near miss reporting and undertaking risk assessments
+ Following Trust polices, guidelines and procedures
+ Maintaining and improving your skills through continued professional development/your personal development plan agreed annually with your line manager.
All clinical staff making entries into health or social care records are required to follow the Trust standards of record keeping., + To work within agreed policies and procedures in order that high standards of patient care are maintained
+ To complete paperwork and outcomes during clinics and be responsible for returning notes and x-rays
+ To ensure effective running of outpatient clinics in liaison with the Consultants and Breast Care Nurse Practitioners
+ To be aware of the patients' needs physical, social and psychological and to be able to report to a registered nurse if required
+ To chaperone and assist medical staff with any procedures required in the clinics
+ To ensure confidentiality of all patient details at all times
