Full Job Description

Working under the supervision of the qualified staff, the HCA/Endoscopy Support Worker will participate and support the members of the multi-disciplinary team in delivering high quality patient care.
Participate in the decontamination of endoscopes and other specialised equipment including the maintenance and traceability of instruments.
The role may involve assisting the Endoscopist with simple accessorising during procedures under qualified staff supervision subject to training., Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic: [email protected]),lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift),all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm

There is no expectation that candidate will have any endoscopy experience, just a willingness to learn some new skills in a busy environment. Comprehensive training will be provided within the Department.
