Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a full-time Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our nursing team in Gynaecology Outpatients. This is a Monday to Friday role (37.5 hours per week), based at the Saint Mary Hospital Site, though cross-site working may occasionally be required. Our clinics are busy and cover all aspects of expert secondary and tertiary referral gynaecology care. Our services are at the forefront of clinical practice and ground-breaking research. The HCA will work closely with the nursing, medical, administrative teams, the gynaecology ward team, Matron, and Clinical Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience, with full support from the nursing team.

  • To work as part of a team providing clinical, phlebotomy, stock maintenance and administrative support to the gynaecology Outpatient service under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • To carry out care and treatment tasks, delegated from professionally qualified nursing and medical staff, requiring a wide range of technical ability, numeracy and literacy skills as well as a significant level of interpersonal skills. To supervise less experienced staff in the clinical area, ensuring patient focused care is always delivered.
  • To ensure the assigned clinical areas are tidy and ordered at all times and maintainthe hygiene and cleanliness of the environment.
