Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Helpdesk Operative to work with the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust To answer and/or manage all incoming calls from an external/internal source and route them to the correct extension in a polite and efficient manner. To support the delivery of excellent key performance outcomes whilst ensuring that relevant services and the environment are safe, fit for purpose, cost efficient, effective and enhance patient care. Ensure residual risks are reported through RCHT risk management frameworks. Ensure that all necessary information is available to enable adequate service to be provided i.e. that records are kept up to date when informed of any changes to telephone numbers, on call list, daily on call sheet, new positions etc. and ensure that the appropriate message books are kept up to date. Monitor and report any faults on various alarm systems to the appropriate department. Be aware of and be confident in ability to carry out the hospital major incident plan and emergency responses. Attend mandatory training sessions and complete Emergency refresher training & on line switchboard training. In the absence of a supervisor/manager deal with any situations that arise e.g. Report faults on switch, alarms system etc. Report faults that may have an impact on the running of the department to the Team Leader
