Full Job Description

As a Helpdesk Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be responsible for a range of support functions, with a specialty in supporting the Estates and Waterfront Helpdesks. Day-to-day, you'll work as part of a dedicated team within a busy Dockyard facility.

  • This is a service provided to the MOD to ensure that building and entitled vessels are supplied with utilities and will require the Helpdesk Specialist to be the Single Point of Contact for all fault related issues, ensuring strong and accurate customer focused skills are always utilised.
  • Acting as a bridge between our people and the maintenance delivery teams you will be on hand to take phone calls and emails, ensuring issues are recorded, prioritised, and given a tailored response plan in a timely manner.
  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

  • Experience in a customer facing role, or support of maintenance or project environments is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Maximo, PEPs, SAP and IFS, or similar type applications would be beneficial.
  • Experience in a helpdesk function would be beneficial or a similar type of role.
  • Some technical knowledge on utilities across the site would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Qualifications for the Helpdesk Specialist
  • BTEC level 3 or equivilent. This may however be formally wavered depending on the level of experience in role and specific capability.
  • Security Clearance The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
