Full Job Description

At Elliott Baxter and Co Ltd we currently have a vacancy for an HGV 2 Driver at our branch at Thurrock.

As an HGV Driver your role is to undertake driving duties including:

· Operate a Class 2 vehicle, covering multi drop deliveries to our customers in the local surrounding areas.

· Assisting in secure loading/unloading and strapping of the vehicle.

· Operate a Heavy Goods Vehicle with full compliance to transport legislation including the requirements of the 'operator's licence (i.e. tachographs, vehicle checks, driver hours) to safely deliver our goods.

· Obeying the rules of the road.

· Comply with training provided on operational duties, manual handling, mechanical handling and Health and Safety at work legislation, company policies.

· Communicate and update management on delivery activity, service levels and Health and Safety to achieve an effective distribution process.

· Finding the quickest and safest route to your destination.

· Complete relevant documentation/tasks.

Valid Certificate of Professional Confidence (CPC)

1+ years' experience as a lorry driver

Clean driving record

Experience with goods handling preferred.

Experience with GPS navigation and mapping

Ability to drive long distances while maintaining focus

Self-motivated and able to work without supervision

Good communication skills

Flexible approach
