Full Job Description

  • This is a vital role to the business getting our brilliant kitchens delivered and a customer facing role, so your customer service skills are just as important as your manual handling skills.
  • This role is physically demanding as the units are prebuilt for the customers and can be of an awkward shape and size. You will need to be physically fit however we do have a trolley available for heavier items.
  • Your working hours for this position will be Tuesday to Friday on a 40-hour contract and overtime will be paid at time and a third.
  • Must be able to drive to and from the depot at the start and end of each shift.
  • Responsible for the safe, efficient and economic driving of our vehicles.
  • Ensuring loads arrive on time and in good condition.
  • Responsible for safety and legal compliance of your vehicle, e.g. checks to ensure weight and load distribution complies with axle and gross weight guidance and that your loads are secure.
  • Ensuring good communication - Informing transport management of any delays, accidents, breakdowns or discrepancies.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle and reporting damages made by yourself or other drivers.
  • Flexibility to working hours and overtime.
  • You will be assigned a driver's mate that will also stay in the cab with you and help unloading items off the van.

    At least 1 years' HGV Class 2 driving experience and a licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Completed periodic CPC training.
  • Valid Digi Card (Tacho) - Training in the use of digital tachographs would also be useful but not essential.
  • A positive and flexible approach towards team ethic.
  • Diligent, organised and with a good eye for detail.
  • Accurately managing all your documentation, ensuring it is completed and submitted correctly and on time.
  • No Drink/Drug Driving offences in the last 10 years.

    We are paying £17.00 per hour for this role and overtime is paid at £22.66. Your working hours for this position will be Tuesday to Friday on a 40-hour contract. Overtime is paid at time and a third after 40 hours. The starting times for this role can range from 6am to 10am with it being production led.,
