We are actively recruiting for a HGV Technician to join our clients logistics and warehousing company based in Cramlington.

Job Details:

  • Location: Cramlington

  • Position: HGV Technician

  • Type: Permanent Position

  • Working Hours: Monday Friday 2 Shift Rotation

  • Week 1: 7am 4.30pm
    Week 2: 9.30am 7pm + Saturday morning.
  • Salary: £41,418 per annum


  • About the Role:

    Working as a HGV Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of large commercial vehicles, including trucks, lorries, and trailers. Your duties would typically include:
  • Regular maintenance of vehicles conducting routine inspections and services of HGVs to ensure they are in a safe working condition.

  • Diagnosing faults using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical or electrical issues.

  • Repairs and replacements carrying out necessary repairs and replacing parts such as engines, gearboxes, breaks and electrical systems.

  • Ensuring you work to a high standard of compliance and regulations ensuring vehicles are road worth.

  • Conducting emergency repairs in various conditions.

  • Maintaining rigorous health and safety standards in all aspects of work.


  • About You:
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 2+ years post qualification experience - Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance/Repairs and/or be Time Served.

  • Class 1 HGV Licence would be of benefit.

  • You will be a reliable, trustworthy individual.

  • Capability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative, to tight deadlines.


  • Rates & Benefits:

    In addition to the base salary, overtime rates are: £23.01, £26.57, £35.41. All technicians participate in a first time MOT pass bonus scheme which secures an extra £60.00 per month (approx.). Standby callout is a £60.00 fee plus a minimum of 2 hours overtime.

    Other benefits include 28 days annual leave per year (including public holidays), NEST pension scheme and Death in Service Benefit schemes.
