Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for anexperienced and highly motivated HGV Workshop Technician/Mechanic to join our team of highly skilledtechnicians.
As the successful HGV Technician/Mechanic you will report to the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager and be a key member of the team. Working in a time criticaldistribution environment, your key accountabilities willinclude;
+ Servicing and maintainingDPD's fleet of approximately 1500 Mercedes Benz tractorunits and in 2700 trailers.
+ FaultDiagnostics on vehicles
+ MOTPreparation for the vehicles
+ Weekly/monthly checks of HGV vehicles
+ Mechanical andElectrical repairs on vehicles
+ SinceNovember 2022 over 60% of our HGV Fleet use Hydrogenated VegetableOil(HVO)

As the successful candidateyou will have had experience working within a similar HeavyGoods or Heavy Plant role, or have knowledgeof yellow goods repairs. Ideally you will be Level 3 trainedin Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time servedtechnician.
You will have knowledge of workingon Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo andRenault vehicles.
You must demonstrate thecore values of DPD's DNA - Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility,Caring and Accountability
It would beadvantageous if you were irtech licence qualified howeverthis is not essential as we can provide further accreditation forthis.
A LGV Class 1 Driving Licence isdesirable for this role but notessential.
