Full Job Description

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs on a wide range of commercial vehicles including emergency vehicles. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards to minimize downtime.,

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, MOT preparations, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out the necessary repairs, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Work with diagnostic equipment to identify electrical, mechanical, and technical issues.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, including parts used and time spent on repairs.
  • Ensure all work is carried out efficiently and within specified timeframes.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.

    NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification (HGV).
  • Previous experience working as an HGV Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV systems, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • A full driving license (HGV license is desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
