Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join our Localities team as a High Rise Officer. As part of this role, you will be responsible for providing a tenancy and customer related service at our Elizabeth House and DeMontfort House properties in Leicester. As the main point of contact for residents, you will be able to develop connections with the residents and the community. You will also show a professional and proactive approach when dealing with any queries or concerns. You will be the primary responder in the case of emergency incidents, which will need to be handled in a calm and swift manner. It is paramount that important processes are followed, with critical information being recorded accurately and messages passed on to the responsible managers and emergency services. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 to 5. You will be required to be on an on-call rota every 3 weeks to respond to any emergencies at the High Rise properties. Due to the requirement to be on call, candidates will require a driving license and the ability to drive to the site within 20 minutes. You will be working with our Localities team and you will occasionally be required to support our patch across the Midlands. What could you be doing?

  • Support new and existing tenants to sustain their tenancy, identifying any vulnerable tenant's needs and assessing any risk so that measures to support them can be put in place.
  • Ensuring fire assessments are carried out and management plans are compliant in line with group policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a record of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for customers who may be at increased risk of being unable to self-evacuate from the building in the case of an emergency.
  • Ensure effective management of tenancy issues such as Anti-Social Behaviour, breaches of tenancy and tenancy adjustments.
  • To ensure that issues pertaining to safeguarding are reported to the local authority and any required remedial actions are performed.

    Housing management experience, preferably gained within High Rise living facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, which will allow you to communicate effectively with customers who may be upset or distressed.
  • Experience of conducting fire risk assessments.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, stay calm when under pressure and have a proactive approach to your work.
  • A driving license and access to your own vehicle.
  • The capability to accurately record and report incidents
  • A basic DBS check is required for this role.
