Full Job Description

High Risk Foot Team Podiatrist Band 7 Permanent, Part Time

Do you want to be a part of a progressive and dynamic High-Risk Foot Team?

Are you longing to be that clinician who can provide holistic vascular and wound assessment and a range of advanced wound therapies and bespoke offloading?

Do you want to be a Non-Medical Prescriber and request x-rays?

Join us and be part of our MDT and work closely with Diabetes, Vascular and Orthopaedic Consultants. Work across acute and community sites ensuring continuity of care for your patients., o Provide daily triage of referrals to the HRFT, assessing clinical urgency/ severity of referrals and appointing or advising referrer appropriately

o Provide skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of complex foot ulcerations and peripheral arterial disease in patients with diabetes and with other complex co-morbidities, both in consultant led and HRFT led clinics

o To be involved in the assessment and treatment of complex nail surgery cases

o Provide clinical leadership within a specified area of work within the High Risk Foot Team.

o Act as a source of expertise in the management and prevention of foot ulcerations, peripheral arterial disease and issues related to the high risk foot for clients/carers/ colleagues and other health care professionals

o Participate in service development for this group of patients

o Provide support and training of nursing and residential homes across the trust in management of high risk patients.

o Provide support and supervision to student podiatrists

o Deliver training to other health care professionals within the trust

o Prescribe appropriate products and medication from the BNF, as documented in personal formulary, during patient treatment. (where appropriate training has been received)

o Act as an authorised non-medical referrer for X-ray imaging of foot and ankle for suspected osteomyelitis and Charcot neuroarthropathy
