Are you ready to kick-start your career in operations management? Join our Higher Apprenticeship in Operations Management and gain hands-on experience while working in our operational teams across our sites. You'll have the opportunity to learn about our manufacturing processes and develop the technical knowledge required to manage our plants effectively. Through this exciting programme, you will build expertise in producing concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and building products, ensuring our operations run efficiently and sustainably.Role Responsibility As a Higher Apprentice in Operations Management, you will:

  • Support Site Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Operations Managers in leading teams and managing site functions.
  • Develop business knowledge, share best practices, and contribute to improving production efficiency.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture, ensuring all site activities meet high safety standards.
  • Undertake site-based duties, including basic maintenance, operating mobile plant, and ensuring site cleanliness and upkeep.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Health and Safety and Geo-Technical teams, to deepen your understanding of site geology and sustainability practices.

  • Hands-on and adaptable - Comfortable working outdoors and in office settings.
  • Great communicators - Able to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Eager to develop - Self-driven to learn both on the job and through formal university studies., Willing to travel - Ready to visit various sites and attend the University of Derby for a Level 5 Minerals Product Technology qualification.
