Full Job Description

HE Learner & Pastoral Support coordinates the provision of study and pastoral support for students on HE programmes and acts as a disability support advisor. You will provide support appropriate to the level being studies and liaising with the Wellbeing team regarding pastoral support, and signpost students to the necessary services. Your role will play a key role in engaging students to support retention and achievement of Higher Education.

You will refer learners to the Learning Support Tutor or Specialist LST for screening exercises to identify learning needs in the students' induction period, and liaise with Wellbeing to ensure support is available as appropriate. You will develop individual support plans with learners to ensure appropriate support is agreed, and students can access appropriate extensions to deadlines if needed. You will attend training or networking events which may benefit the provision of support for HE learners.

To apply for this role, you will need an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, recognised qualification in providing learning support, knowledge of a range of learning difficulties and how to support them, excellent communication skills and a high degree of motivation and organisational skills and strong ability to work in a team.
