Are you passionate about education and determined to help students succeed in their most crucial academic year? Join our vibrant secondary school as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), focusing on Year 11 students as they prepare for their GCSEs. In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with teachers to support GCSE classes, providing tailored assistance to ensure students reach their full potential. You'll also be responsible for writing detailed one plans and student passports, tailoring educational strategies to meet individual needs. Effective communication with parents is key, and you'll play a vital role in building strong relationships to ensure the best outcomes for our students., The start date is as soon as possible. The closing date for applications is midday on 10th January 2025 and interviews will be held week commencing 20th January 2025. The successful candidate will need to have GCSE qualification grade C/level 5 or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths. Additionally, the successful candidate will hold the HLTA/L4 Teaching Assistant qualification or be willing to achieve it within 12 months of appointment.
The pay band for the role is Scale 5 (scp 9 to 12), which is £26,409 to £27,711 The hours of work for the role will be 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday and this will be required term time, plus five staff training days (39 weeks in total), working between the hours of 08.55 am to 15.30 pm, with one afternoon working to 16.00 pm. The actual salary for the role (inclusive of holiday pay) is £17,133.45 to £17,978.15 (under 5 years' service) or £17,363.43 to £18,219.47 (over 5 years' service). The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
