We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join Orchard Park High School and become an integral member of the SEN department.

Orchard Park has a large SEND department and an Enhanced Learning Provision which is dedicated to students with Developmental Language Disorder. Students within the ELP receive additional support in their classes as well as interventions on social skills and weekly SaLT - both from the therapist and led by the linked TA. All our SEND students are fully part of the main school and engage in all activities; they are a thriving group of students who go on to be very successful when leaving our school. The HLTA will oversee the interventions run for all ELP students as well as other students on the SEND register in the school.

  • To provide and deliver learning activities for small groups as well as support in lessons

  • To plan, prepare and deliver sessions to small groups from mainstream and/or resource base and assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment

  • To be responsible for the delivery of designated curricula including specific interventions as well as ensuring the quality assurance of all interventions runs by the TAs

  • To support the SENCO with administrative tasks to ensure the best outcomes for our students with SEND

  • To support with adapting and creating timetables of TAs and support staff to best meet the needs of our SEND pupils.
