Full Job Description

Support learners with learning barriers with instruction comprehension and proofreading SPAG

- Assist the tutor to ensure learners receive an engaging learning experience

- Update support plans, and type up academic notes to record learner progress for management to

report to guardians

- Help learners remain on programme, achieve their qualifications and progress

- To collaborate with the tutor to refine lesson plans to suit the learner needs and learning styles

- To invigilate exams according to learner access arrangement needs

- Review ALS Support Plans and set weekly and monthly targets for the learner to feed into their ILP

- Parent/carer communication - produce half termly reports

- Promote the safety and wellbeing young people

- Support with access arrangements, Part 1 of Form 8s, form 9s, etc.

- Mentor sessions/catch ups with SEN learners

- Mentor new learning support tutors or those needing additional support

- Ensure relevant information is shared with tutors regarding learners needs and support strategies

Proven track record of supporting learners with additional learning needs well

- Conscientious team player with a positive outlook and a keen eye for detail

- Good in English and Maths Skills

- Knowledge and understanding of at least one of the following creative curriculum areas: Music,

Media, Games Design, Animation, Art, Performing Arts, Event

- Higher level teaching assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one

- Experience in delivering literacy/numeracy intervention

Key Tasks:

- Encourage learner attendance, punctuality, Proven track record of excellent performance as a teaching assistant or learning support tutor

- Able to deliver intervention in core and creative subjects

- Able to track, monitor and record learner progression, including intervention

- Excellent report writing skills

- Confidence to deliver catch-up sessions

- One-year experience of working with SEN, Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)

funded Taking Teaching Further scheme's qualification. This is 6 months of

reduced timetable for training whilst receiving full pay and lesson cover.

- 35 hours across 5 days a week for 52 weeks per year

- 25 days of annual leave plus UK bank holidays

- This is a permanent full-time position

- Annual salary £29,300
