  • HLTA Job Description

St. Andrew's CofE Primary School (All Saints Academy Trust) are looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing and skilled HLTA Practitioner to join our friendly, caring and highly effective staff team.
  • Our school is situated in the growing market town of Halstead, and as a Church School part of the Diocese of Chelmsford. Our school promotes our six "Learning for Life" behaviours and they run through the school like wording within a stick of rock. Ofstead judged our school as remaining "good" during our September 2022 inspection. We are seeking someone committed to making an impact on young children's lives. We are able to be flexible as to the year groups/group you are linked to and your area of expertise and personal preference can influence the Key Stage you are assigned to; it is important to us that staff are happy in their work. However, initially this will be with our Key Stage 2 children. We are committed to having additional support staff outside our SEN funded support staff and have seen the difference this makes for our pupils and indeed teaching staff. The role may be varied and is likely to include covering classes on occasion and supporting learning with an allocated class, supporting pupils with additional needs and delivering programmes with individuals and groups within that class, helping children catch-up and fill identified gaps. If you are excited by this opportunity our enthusiastic and passionate team would love to welcome you. The successful applicant will ideally have: · HLTA Qualification · A passion for supporting children's learning and ability to thrive during their primary school journey. · The ability to be patient and flexible and able to use their initiative in a range of situations, motivating children to give their best. · Some relevant and recent experience in primary education. · The ability to work as part of a team and strong written and verbal communication skills. · A good knowledge of how to build pupils' self-esteem and use a positive approach to behaviour management, understanding that all behaviour is communication (We use the Thrive Approach) or be willing to be trained in these areas. · An eagerness to develop and be part of the wider school community, sharing talents and skills with others. · The ability to use technology to support practice. Position start date will be subject to any notice period required.
