The Role

Are you passionate about helping children reach their full potential? Our school is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team.

As a HLTA you will work closely with teachers to plan and deliver support to students both in and outside of the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team. Experience in a school setting is essential but this could be in a primary or secondary setting.

This post is 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days and 1 week during school closure period)

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Working with teachers to plan and deliver learning to small groups and whole classes;


• Proactively supporting students with activities designed to enhance numeracy, literacy and social-emotional skills.


• providing cover if the class teacher is absent.


• Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture;


• Working with SEN students to foster their development as independent learners.
