Full Job Description

Working with the Lead Cardiac Physiologists, the post holder will assist in the running of all present services provided by the Cardiology Laboratory. The post holder will support in the delivery of a high quality, efficient service to patients and to supervise, guide and support staff in performance of their roles in the department. The postholder will be expected to work as an independent practitioner in permanent pacemaker follow-up and implants., To be technically proficient as an independent practitioner in non-invasive cardiology procedures, and permanent pacemaker implants and follow up Working independently to perform and report simple and complex permanent pacemaker follow ups. Analyse, interpret and report complex clinical data e.g. PPM follow up undertaking necessary departmental procedure when diagnosing an unexpected finding and liaising/advising with medical staff as required. Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £23 (standard disclosure) or £43 (enhanced disclosure) will be deducted from salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment. Bank posts require upfront payment. DBS applications submitted from 2nd December will be subject to the new DBS fee of £26.50 (standard) and £54.50 (Enhanced). From April 2017, Skilled visa applicants and their adult dependant(s) will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have lived in consecutively for 12 months or more in the past ten years. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our welcoming Aintree Cardiology Department. We currently undertake a wide variety of non-invasive and invasive tests including ECG, Ambulatory Monitoring, Tilt Table Testing, Exercise Tolerance Testing, Echocardiography (including Dobutamine and Exercise Stress Echo, Transoesophageal, Contrast and Bubble Studies, Specialist Valve Clinics, Advanced Imaging including Speckle Tracking and 3-D Echocardiography and Research), Cardiac Catheterisation and Permanent Pacing; both implant and follow up. The candidates should have BHRS accreditation. This is an ideal opportunity for a current band 7 seeking a change, or forward thinking suitably qualified Band 6 who is looking to develop their career further., We expect the successful applicant to have the ability to work independently and you will also be expected to participate in the training and appraisal of junior staff.,

  • Substantial post qualification experience
  • Experience in training of staff in all grades
  • Wide range of cardiology knowledge, including ECGs and ambulatory ECG analysis
  • Desirable criteria
  • Managerial experience, Degree in Cardiac Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • ILS trained
  • RCCP/AHCS registration or equivalent
  • BHRS accreditation
  • Desirable criteria
  • Training for trainers assessment qualification
  • Management qualification, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
