Full Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing and developing Congenital and Pediatric Cardiac Investigations Department as a Band 7 Highly Specialised Physiologist in Rhythm Management, who will take an active part in our non-invasive and cardiac catheter team.

As a tertiary cardiac level 1 centre, we provide Cardiac Investigation support to the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre for both paediatrics at the LRI and Adult Congenital heart Disease patients at the Glenfield Hospital.

With the relocation of EMCHC to LRI we have a purpose built, state of the art facility, which will form part of the building blocks of the new Children's Hospital. Including a brand new echo and pacing suite, theatres and catheter lab with the most up to date equipment, and a new outpatients department.

We are looking to invest in our staff to ensure that we continue to provide an outstanding service to our patients from Leicester and also surrounding counties.

Since the EMCHC move to the LRI as a Cardiac Investigations Department we cover Outpatient and Inpatient activity for both non-invasive and invasive catheter lab procedures and are currently developing the rhythm management service where this post will be crucial., As a Band 7 Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist, you will be provided with opportunities to enhance your skills as a clinical practitioner by working within UHL for both LRI in paediatrics and Glenfield for adults.

More specialised training will be provided if required and we are always looking to develop skills and professionalism. We are currently supporting HSST roles.

The role includes being the lead in device clinics, implants and working in the interventional catheter lab. Other duties may include non invasive investigations.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

high-quality care for all,

being a great place to work,

partnerships for impact, and

research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

we are compassionate,

we are proud,

we are inclusive, and

we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
