Full Job Description

To provide specialist respiratory assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care to a range of patientswith undiagnosed respiratory disease as well as acute on chronic respiratory diseasepresentations. This will involve caring for patients in a number of differing environments in order tofully meet the populations needs of people with respiratory disease with in the SGH catchment,including out-patient clinics, and additional assessment areas including acute assessment areas.The post requires working with a number of partners in and out of hospital settings, includingRespiratory consultants, Respiratory nurses, GPs, community MDT teams and other partnerssuch as Oxygen providers., To use advanced assessment, diagnosis and plan treatment for respiratory patients in predominately outpatient settings, who are expected to have highly complex presentations in both acute and chronic disease. The post hold will be required to determine clinical diagnosis and plan treatment indicated, working as an autonomous practitioner whilst ensuring theaccurate records are maintained.o To take a role in supervision and teaching of students, and members of the wider MDT.2o To provide skilled team leadership and be responsible for operational management, teamdevelopment, implementation of policy and policy changes in own clinical area and to set andmonitor standards of practice.o To input into commissioning of new services as requiredo To supervise, initiate and participate in evidence based projects, including recommendationsfor change in practice and to lead in departmental audit in the clinical area.o To report into national audits relevant to clinical areao To report regularly to
