Full Job Description

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust and have not been an employee of the Trust in the previous 3 years. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a band 7 highly specialist Physiotherapist to join the Integrated Community Stroke Team across Nottingham South to cover a secondment for an existing staff member.

Our well established Integrated Community Stroke Service deliver rehabilitation into various community settings. Care is currently delivered 8am-5pm, 5 days a week, including Bank Holidays. Weekend working may be required in the future.

Offering various roles and career development opportunities, working within supportive teams that encourage us all to work to the best of our abilities to provide the highest quality care., As a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist for the Integrated Community Stroke Rehabilitation service you will help to provide leadership and support to staff regarding the delivery of the specialist community stroke rehabilitation and ongoing case management as part of the specialist service. You will also have the following responsibilities:

As a specialist clinician, the post holder will:

Provide highly specialist clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessments, treatment and management of stroke survivors with complex presentations.

Work closely with the MDT, communicate effectively with clients/carers and their families and supervise, teach and develop other staff as required.

Support our patients within the community to enable them to live their optimum life, being self-caring and independent with their health needs following a stroke.

The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the Community Stroke Rehabilitation service meets accreditation standards or working towards meeting standards of accreditation by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) National Stroke Rehabilitation guidelines and National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Stroke Rehabilitation guidelines.
