Full Job Description
The patient experience is at the centre of everything we do and this post represents our next phase of our service strategy - the development of an integrated long term conditions (LTC) pathway. The Talking Therapy services will offer the local population a LTC service, focussing on the highly prevalent LTCs, which are Cancer, COPD, Asthma and Diabetes. The prevalence of these LTCs are slightly higher than the England baseline and therefore a priority for the service and the local Integrated Care System. The local services are already primed to start this work, and require a highly motivated, clinically credible senior clinician to lead this area of service delivery. There are already developed partnerships in areas and the post holder will need to link into the local ICS "Joint Forward Plan". A proportion of the workforce have been trained through the Health Education England long term conditions top up training and you will work with managers to develop a workforce
strategy to release these skills, in line with service growth. As a senior clinician, you will join our senior leadership team and provide clinical leadership focussing on quality and clinical development to deliver a LTC strategy, a clinical pathway and then act as a senior clinician whose portfolio will also include leadership within this area. You will join 3 other 8a senior clinical posts who have portfolios in CBT, PWP and relational therapy., Working under the direction of the clinical lead:
1. Provide clinical leadership for Long Term Conditions, providing associated consultation, training and clinical supervision to other team members.
2. Provide evidence based psychological therapy within your specified modality to a more complex clinical population, that cannot be met in a standard TTAD (IAPT) pathway, but still meet the 'top end' criteria for NHS Talking Therapies.
3. Lead on developing integrated clinical pathways, to ensure place-based therapy delivery
4. To provide clinical leadership to the service and operate within the senior leadership team
5. Ensure services meet the national competency frameworks, ensuring workforce compliance with NICE approved therapies and relevant psychological therapy / supervision competency frameworks (e.g Roth & Pilling).
6. With the clinical lead, provide a quality feedback framework, by inputting to incident report reviews, critical incidents and serious incident reports, providing feedback and supporting staff, whilst assisting in identifying themes for improvements.
7. Contribute to the implementation of specialist area pathways and provide ongoing monitoring.
8. Engage in research activity within the services, providing a point of contact and a conduit to research colleagues.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
9. To propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
10. To provide supportive clinical leadership to engage and support the workforce in providing effective therapies that engage with individual formulations and treatment goals.
11. Providing a specific area of expertise to case discussions and promoting psychological thinking within multiagency meetings and conversations.
12. Lead on "Making every contact count", to aid the promotion of healthy lifestyles and reducing health inequalities for clients who use the service.
13. Deputise for the clinical lead, when required and on a rotational basis.
