Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist | West London NHS Trust

We are looking for a 0.8 WTE Band 8b Clinical Psychologist to provide a highly specialist neuropsychological service to the Neuropsychological Assessment Clinic, the Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Clinic and the Memory Clinic based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with experience of neuropsychological assessment of neurological conditions, and working within an MDT. Previous diagnostic experience or working with adults with spina bifida/hydrocephalus would be desirable but is not essential for the role. The post would particularly suit someone who enjoys working with varied client groups, teamwork, providing consultation and teaching to other health professionals, and contributing to service development.

We are able to offer specialist supervision and support to psychologists who would like to pursue training for entry on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychology.

The Neuropsychological Assessment clinic accepts referrals from neurologists across Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The clinic provides specialist neuropsychological assessments to help inform diagnosis and provide basic cognitive rehabilitation.

The Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus clinic was founded in 1993. The clinic is based at Chelsea and Westminster is a centre of excellence which cares for approximately 700 patients a year from a wide geographical area. It provides a 'one-stop' health check-up for patients living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, drawing on the expertise of a range of multi-disciplinary staff.

The Memory Clinic is consultant-led and supported by a multidisciplinary team. The service is based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and includes assessment, diagnosis and treatment of those who are concerned they may have a memory problem.

There are opportunities to be involved in providing consultation, training, teaching and support to those working within the service and wider. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and with other professionals across services to help ensure those accessing the service have their needs met.
