Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist - Full Time - Permanent - Band 6/Band 7 Development Opportunity, We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to work within our brand new, purpose-built, acute inpatient mental health hospital in Chertsey. This is a rare opportunity to work within a setting built with current understandings of therapeutic environments and trauma-informed care.

Our Service is committed to working in partnership to deliver high quality care and a recovery-based approach to mental health services. We use the Model of Human Occupation to guide all our occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

Our new way of working embodies a 'One Team' approach. You will work with a dedicated and supported multiprofessional team which includes Psychology, Nursing and Psychiatry, as well as other key Multidisciplinary members in the Acute Care Service. Delivering excellent care and treatment to the people we support and their families. You will also be providing supervision and mentoring to Occupational Therapists and activity coordinators.

The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, co-ordinated CPD programme including a robust supervision structure, care group meetings, Trust wide and core competence training, and an annual conference. Staff are valued for their expertise in occupationally focused interventions and specialist group therapy., The post is suitable if you have previous experience and specialist skills working in mental health. You will be very committed to the processes that promote the individual's recovery. The role includes completing high quality, evidenced based occupational therapy assessments and interventions. The post holder will also have knowledge and experience of using the Model of Human Occupation. The ideal candidate must have demonstrable experience of supervising teams in a busy environment and have a passion for working with people who are acutely unwell. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
