An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barts Health for a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist within the respiratory outpatient services.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to shape and develop an effective physiotherapy outpatient service for adult patients with Complex breathlessness. Severe Asthma and a range of other respiratory disorders. The post holder will be responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy service in close collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues within the service.
This will include taking a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty who may have highly complex needs, determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated.
The post includes leadership commitments within therapies as well as involvement in audit and quality improvement.
This role is suitable for a band 7 or an experienced band 6 looking for clinical development and quality improvement experience., The post holder will work within several multidisciplinary teams. This includes the consultant led Complex Breathlessness service.
They will also be embedded within the North Central and East London Regional Service Asthma Service. The MDT is comprised of respiratory and ENT doctors, clinical nurse specialists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, a speech and language therapist and a clinical psychologist.
The post also sits within the wider St Bartholomew's Hospital therapies service.
Key results areas
· To be clinically responsible for physiotherapy input to the Complex breathlessness and general outpatient respiratory caseloads
· To keep up to date with new developments in the specialty, and share them with the team
· To lead on and participate in service development.
· To ensure clinical achievement of service standards and escalation of any barriers to achievement identified
In return, we will develop your skills, knowledge and experience with formal and on-the-job training. Barts Trust has an extensive offer of trainings run internally and by external agencies. The physiotherapy and severe asthma services at St. Bartholomew's Hospital have regular CPD programmes.
