Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity to work at the UK's oldest hospital and a Centre of Excellence for cancer care. Working in an integrated therapy team as a highly specialist physiotherapist, the post-holder will be expected to:
· Lead and participate in the delivery of a specialist therapy service to cancer patients at St Bartholomew's.
· Support in the training and development of AHP staff working in cancer throughout Barts Health NHS Trust and North-East London.
· Demonstrate the role and importance of physiotherapy in cancer care through the use of evidence -based practice and standardised assessments.
· Lead in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
· Provide clinical and operational leadership across the service including the development of services to ensure equity and sustainability.
· Monitor standards of practice, implementing policy and policy changes within the clinical area.

We are looking for a Band 7 who is ready for new challenges or an experienced Band 6 who is seeking promotional opportunities to join our team at the Bart's Cancer Centre on a full-time basis.
The Barts Cancer Centre comprises of 88 inpatient beds with a mixed caseload of Medical Oncology, Haem Oncology and Endocrine patients. The service also includes an Outpatient Oncology Physiotherapy Service and the successful post holder will also hold a role in this department too.
We are looking for somebody who is passionate in supporting change and enjoys working in a fast-paced acute environment with a varied and complex caseload.
For candidates keen to further their physiotherapy career in cancer but do not currently meet the essential criteria required for a band 7, we are offering the opportunity join us on a development programme.
The development programme will take place over a 9-month period, during this time you will have regular reviews with your Clinical Lead and informal mentor, working towards pre-agreed competencies. We have a strong philosophy of continuous learning to improve our staff's skills and knowledge. It will be expected of the successful candidate to provide evidence and reflections to support their development over the 9 months.
