Full Job Description

To be responsible for the assessment, treatment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-basedhighly specialised podiatry intervention within the areas of:o Diabetes / Vascular Assessment / Minor Surgeryo Rheumatology/ BiomechanicsTo support the development of specialist podiatrists and podiatrists via knowledge sharing andsupervision to ensure competency within the podiatry workforce. To lead on agreed service developmentsaimed at service improvements (in line with Evidenced Based Practice) to improve quality within theservice., 1. To be responsible for a highly specialist podiatry portfolio in an agreed area of expertise, whichwill include provision of expert advice to podiatrists, senior clinicians, MDT across Mersey CareFoundation Trust (MCFT) to support them in taking up their duty of care; to produce, co-ordinateand deliver training programmes including competency frameworks, information packages forpatients and families together with colleagues working in health, education and social care.2. Management of a clinical caseload of patients with highly complex and/or additional podiatricneeds.3. To undertake comprehensive podiatry assessment of patients with highly complex presentations,using investigative and analytical skills, to formulate an appropriate hypothesis and to determinea diagnosis.4. To establish individualised management and treatment plans, using advanced clinical reasoningand utilising a wide range of evidence based treatment skills and options to formulate highlyspecialised interventions and
programmes of care, which may include working with staff acrossorganisational boundaries.5. To facilitate pathways of care involving a step up / step down approach to patients care
