Full Job Description

Please note that applicants must be able to commit to working a minimum of 22.5 hours per week (3 days/0.6 wte) within the Ealing Speech and Language Therapy team. Furthermore, you may be required to work in different parts of the service to support Service Objectives.,

  • To assess, diagnose and manage a caseload of clients with speech, language and communication difficulties across settings including clinics, homes and nurseries .
  • Providing assessment and intervention to children aged 0-18 with a Sensorineural Hearing Loss. Children are seen in their homes and in community clinics. This post will require proficient clinical skills but also an ability to work closely with a range of other professionals including Specialist Advisory Teachers/ Teacher of the Deaf, Audiologists, Doctors/Hospital Teams and Special Educational Needs Coordinators. The appointed therapist will maintain up-to-date knowledge of national guidelines and policies related to service delivery. To assess clients referred to the speech and language therapy service and to develop and implement specialist SLT treatment packages. To work together with health and education staff in integrating therapy targets into all learning goals for children in other settings To manage and prioritise a caseload independently with access to support and supervision as necessary. To assist team leaders in service development To be based at Carmelita House
