Full Job Description

The Dorset Integrated Non-Custodial Service is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in health and justice and a passion for supporting people who are making their way through the criminal justice system., As the service operates across the whole of Dorset, some travel across the county will be necessary, however we will try to match your base with your home location. Employment is dependent upon passing the police vetting process with the option of being put forward for prison vetting., Working across the whole of Dorset you will attend Magistrates' and Crown Courts, His Majesty's Prisons and community locations, providing speech and language assessments, advice and identifying robust care pathways for individuals over the age of 10 where a potential vulnerability has been identified. You will also assist in identifying individuals who may benefit from a Mental Health Treatment Requirement as an alternative to custody, and the format those interventions will be delivered in.

You will lead on staff training and awareness of speech, language and communication needs to support people within the criminal justice system, as well as aid awareness of any additional needs to justice decision makers.
