Full Job Description

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist 0.6 WTEDysphagia - school-aged (Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster) We are seeking a dynamic, SLT experienced in dysphagia to join our team working with school-aged children. The successful applicant will hold a dysphagia clinical caseload, support the development of others and have opportunities to lead on service improvement projects. The post holder should have knowledge and skills in paediatric dysphagia, (level C or above RCSLT dysphagia competencies). Provide highly specialist assessment and management of school-aged children across a range of settings (e.g., clinic, mainstream and special schools, patient homes), working in collaboration with their families, education colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team. Enhance your leadership and clinical supervision skills. Review and implement evidence-based practice and lead on service development projects within the wider dysphagia team. Access regular 1:1 clinical supervision, peer supervision and cross-service dysphagia journal club., Providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to children and young people with dysphagia (eating, drinking and swallowing disorders), supporting parents, clients and other professionals in all issues related to client management. Liaison with the MDT is an integral part of the role. Providing highly specialist clinical supervision and line management to other speech and language therapists and support in the training and development of junior dysphagia therapists in the team. Contributing to developments within the Dysphagia team and to the broader service including in the development of policies and procedures relating to clinical care, evidence-based practice, care pathways and outcome development. You will contribute to Trust, service and professional wide initiatives. Delivering training/courses to staff as relevant to the post e.g. specific in-service training across settings to a variety of audiences e.g. parents and staff in school settings
